Fasting Guide

 victory center’s 10 day fast

Day 1

Romans 12:1 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Think about: We have a choice about what we do with our bodies; it is OUR choice not God’s. Bringing our bodies in subjection to God is to our responsibility.

Decide: Today, I make a decision to present my body as a living sacrifice unto God.

day 2

Romans 12:1 ; 2 Corinthians 6:16 - …for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (KJV)

Think about: Ask the Lord if there is anything you need to do with your body in order to make it a more suitable temple for the Holy Spirit. Examine yourself in the area of diet. Are you feeding your body a healthy diet that will nourish your body, or habitually eating harmful foods that only taste good but are destructive to your health? (sugar, sodas, junk food, etc.) Are your regular habits building up your body, such as regular exercise, or destroying it through nicotine or other addictive habits.

Decide: Today, I ask God to help me change what I realize I need to get rid of—the sins or weights that so easily beset me. (Hebrews 12:1)

day 3

Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (KJV)

Think about: The importance of renewing your mind in order to bring it into alignment with the word of God is immeasurable. The process of transformation can only take place through mind renewal.

Decide: Today, I purpose to begin the process of renewing my mind by asking the Lord for help as I give myself to studying the Bible and praying.

day 4

Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (KJV)

Decide: Today, I purpose to seek God’s will and set my mind on kingdom thoughts so that my ideals and attitudes will reflect Christ in every area of my life. Doing this will keep me from being conformed to the ways of the world.

day 5

Romans 12:2 - Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. (Amplified Bible)

Philippians 2:5 - Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:] (Amplified Bible)

Decide: Today, I examine my attitudes to determine whether they originate from pride or humility, love or selfishness, and I pray that they become like Christ’s attitudes. I renew my mind to line up with God’s plans and purposes, and confess that I have the mind of Christ.

1Corinthians 2:16 …But we have the mind of Christ.

day 6

Isaiah 58:6-7 - Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

Decide: Today, I purpose to be an extension of the hand of God. (This is the time you can realize there are many who are less fortunate than you and pray for them. Make a decision to reach out to the needy and do something to help.)

day 7

Isaiah 58:8 - Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward.

Decide: Today, Lord, I thank you that revelation knowledge and understanding of Your plan is revealed to me and for healing and improved health to be manifested in my body.

day 8

Isaiah 58:11–12 - And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

Matthew 4:16 - The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for continual direction and Your provision daily. I believe You, God, and know that You will prosper me. I thank you for an increased anointing in my life.

day 9

Romans 8:5-8 - For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Prayer: Lord, please help me today to not walk after my flesh but to follow The Holy Spirit.

day 10

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 - Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Decide: I purpose, from now on, to live a disciplined life under the control of the Holy Spirit. And I declare that I will finish my course!
